Lexington Adds Ultimaker S5 3D Printer
Lexington recently purchased an Ultimaker S5 3D printer. This will expand our capabilities for building EOAT, prototype parts and fixtures. We are jumping right in and making support arms for one of our end of arm tooling plates. The print time was around 3 1/2 hours each and the material cost was very reasonable per part. We used PLA for this application.
The support arms with the switches that we added will help ensure that the metal rings are loaded into the mold straight every time. The switches will let us know that the EOAT is seated off properly so that the rings are pushed all the way into position.
This 3D printer will allow us to provide another level of service to our customers, internally and externally within the facility.
